Philippines hold Multi-Stake Young Single Adults Conferences

Nationwide October 2008

Anxiously engaged in a good cause, young single adults from different areas of the Philippines gathered together in their own local regions last October to November 2008 for a one-day Multi-Stake Young Single Adults Conference (MYSA).

The said event included group dynamics, games, devotionals and dinner dances, which the single adults found enjoyable and edifying as they mingled with different latter-day saints of their age.

“Since the event was just a one-day activity, the activities were designed to be concise, ladderized and planned by the young single adults, themselves,” said Pres. Robert Andrada, MYSA Chairman of Manila Region and President of Manila Philippines Stake.

The one-day event and the proximity of the venues chosen by each region made the conference accessible especially for the single adults who are employed. “It was one of the best venues to mingle with other SAs. It was both a spiritual and fun experience,” said Sis. Cherry Deuda, a single adult representative from Novaliches Philippines Stake.

Said conference is an annual event and has been an opportunity not just to have fun but also to build lasting, eternal friendships.

“Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness.” (D&C 58:27)
