Knowing the Truth Through the Holy Ghost

“And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; if ye shall with a sincere heart with real intent, having faith in Christ, He will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

And by the power of the Holy Ghost, ye may know the truth of all things.”

                                                                                     Moroni 10: 4-5

This scripture made a big difference in my life when the missionaries were teaching me the restored gospel. As a member of another church, I did not believe in the teachings they shared and even rejected the idea that it came from God. In spite of my doubts, the missionaries continued to visit me and each visit was coupled with testimonies about the truthfulness of the gospel.

In one of their visits they read a passage from the Book of Mormon, in the Book of Moroni 10:4-5. I was struck by the clarity of the message. I was then searching for answers about the restored gospel. I accepted the challenge. I prayed about it and received a strange feeling of comfort. In time I was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I came to know that it was the Holy Ghost who inspired me to search for the truth. I strive to have its constant companionship through righteous living and obedience.
